This new and exciting ground work competition will test your skills and your ability to teach your horse something new. 

This competition originates from our very popular 'Last horseman standing competition'. 

The competition is in three rounds and run over a three month period - July, August and September. 


The competition will begin on XX July with the first seven tasks being released. You'll then have three weeks to teach and perfect the tasks and produce a film to submit, showing yourself and your horse completing each of the seven tasks to the best of your abilitiy. Each film will be looked at by our panel of judges. Only 50% of the films submitted will go through to the next round. Those who don't make it through will receive a rosette for completing round 1. 

Those who go through will then be presented with a new set of seven tasks and again will have three weeks to produce their next film. Again, each film will be looked at by our panel of judges. Only 50% of the films submitted will go through to the next round. 
Those who don't make it through will receive a rosette for completing round 2.


For those competitors who make it to the final month, they will get a new set of seven tasks and again will have three weeks to produce their film. Each film will be looked at by our panel of judges who will select the champion and reserve champion of 'The Greatest Horseman 2026'.

Expect to see tasks combining a series of different groundwork methods such as single rope work, long-lining and liberty. There will also be tasks where you will need a pole, a safe object they can go around and
